Most Cotons de Tulear born within Canada today lack the vertical health data that is truly required to ensure a healthy, strong future for the breed. 

Members of the Western Coton de Tulear Club utilize the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals to track trends in the breed.

Concerns of note for the Coton de Tulear include, but are not limited to: Patellar Luxation, Hip Dysplasia, Elbow Incongruity & Intervertebral Disc Disease.
